This last year some friends and I joined the Barbecue Circuit and competed in several competitions, including the K.C. American Royal. We actually won several awards with our herbs, rubs and sauces.
You will find that Barbecuers have personal preferences as to the meat, rubs and sauces they use.
A dry rub is usually a mixture of spices and herbs, applied to the meat and rubbed into the surface of the meat. My Maddog Steak Rub not only enhances the natural flavors of the steak but also helps keep the natural juices in the steak. In fact, try it on other meats as well, such as chicken and pork chops. If you have a new recipe for my rubs and stuff, please let me know and I will share these with the others as well.
